Andy has extensive experience in assisting small businesses and individuals with their tax, accounting, and operational needs. He works with businesses in a broad range of industries with emphasis on real estate, healthcare, and restaurants and bars.
Andy’s career has included working for local accounting firms. This experience has given him the opportunity to work with numerous small businesses and has allowed him to understand the challenges that owners have to face. It has also provided him the chance to work with many individuals and help them navigate the many changes that have occurred during these turbulent financial times.
In 2010, Andy left his position as Principle of a large local firm to start his own practice. Andrew D. Hamaker, CPA was founded on three principles; availability, ability, affability. His belief that good service should be provided at a fair value has helped his practice grow rapidly.
Andy graduated from Ball State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, a professional accountancy fraternity. He holds a Certified Public Accounting certificate from the State of Indiana.
Andy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society, Charles F. Frank F & AM 760, The Northern Valley of the Scottish Rite, and the Murat Shrine. He is past President and Treasurer of Storytelling Arts of Indiana and was a board member of the organization for over ten years. In 1997, Andy sat on the AICPA Tax Standards Committee and assisted in developing questions for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Exam.
Andy is the Managing Member of The Sinking Ship Bar and Restaurant, The Chug, and a partner in many real estate investments. In his spare time, Andy likes to play many different percussion instruments and compose music.
